3DC is a Japanese university spinoff startup researching and developing a cutting-edge carbon material, Graphene Meso Sponge (GMS). GMS has a unique sponge-like carbon structure that is elastically deformable and chemically durable, which breaks the battery’s tradeoff between long life and high energy density. Its production will start in 2024.

The Deep Tech Talent Initiative (DTTI) is a pioneering programme that will skill one million people within deep tech fields over the next three years. As Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is best placed to mobilise its network of 3 400+ partners and 70+ hubs across Europe to develop state-of-the-art deep tech education programmes.
