She moved to the UK to work as a postdoc at the National Institutes of Medical Research in London (now the Crick) and later switched to science journalism at the Novartis Foundation. She has written for the Economist, the New Scientist, Scientific American, the Observer and Times, and for the last 14 years, has been covering biotech news for Nature Biotechnology.
