The epicentre of deep tech is going online
15th September 2020
True to our roots at Hello Tomorrow, we are finding new solutions to global problems and adapting to the world we live in as it shifts and evolves.
In light of the ever-changing circumstances surrounding the covid-19 pandemic, we have come to the conclusion that the best option to safely offer each member of our community the same unique experience that we always have, is for our Global Summit to be hosted fully online, from 16th to 20th November. We’re here to tell you more about our decision, how the very first Virtual Hello Tomorrow Global Summit will look, and why we’re so excited about it!
To face the world’s main challenges, we need to bring forward science and innovation at an international level
We are not willing to sacrifice the international basis of our Global Summit, something we pride ourselves on at Hello Tomorrow. Going online will allow us to overcome the travel restrictions in place, and continue collectively accelerating vital solutions to market. We are dedicated, as ever, to providing a space, as well as a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs from all over the world to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation, helping to bring solutions to market that have real potential in the face of this crisis, as well as the others that we are rapidly approaching.
It’s an opportunity to grow and evolve
The methods of fostering the innovation ecosystem that we have developed over 6 years of organising physical events is what we know best, and of course, we’ve been hesitant to stray from this. Over the past 6 months, however, we have attended virtual versions of some of our favourite tech and ecosystem events everywhere, been blown away by their high-standard and motivated by the possibilities, and even advantages, that we’ve seen to be possible with online events.
We’re going bigger than two days
We want our attendees to make the most out of the event, avoid the so-called ‘zoom-fatigue’ and give ourselves maximum time to create a true Hello Tomorrow experience. So we are extending our event to 5 days rather than 2, and slightly postponing the dates to the 16th to 20th November. The same applies to our Investor Day, now spread over 5 ‘Investor Days’, from 9th-13th November.
The Global Summit program will, as planned, follow 4 main themes: space(s), planet, human, machine. With pitches from the best startups, selected from over 5000 applications, keynotes, panel discussions and Q&A sessions, each day will follow one of these themes respectively.
The final day will be dedicated to the power of deep tech in the face of crises, with talks and interviews from special guests, closing with our awards ceremony to announce the grand winner of the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge 2020. All members of our community will be able to access this content anytime, anywhere.
